Founded in 2004, ArtGrounds.com is an art community that brings its members together so that they may display their work, promote their portfolios, develop recognition in the art community, receive feedback from their peers, and is a place where aspiring and professional artists can learn. ArtGrounds is still a small but rapidly growing community of users hailing from all over the world.
ArtGrounds also features the Sketcher art software, another product of Jotun Technologies Inc. Sketcher is a collaborative art application that allows you and other artists to draw on a single canvas simultaneously, with a rich set of tools that brings life and depth to your art. Sketcher features collaborative communication tools such as group text chat and Voice over IP (VoIP) allowing you and other artists the ability to communicate using a microphone so that you do not have to take your cursors off the canvas. Additionally, Sketcher supports the mouse, the touchpad, and the digitizer tablet.
Once you draw a piece of art in Sketcher, you can then upload it to ArtGrounds for the rest of the world to see. ArtGrounds features a message board where you can discuss art and art related topics, a gallery where you can upload your art, comment on others' art, and receive feedback from other artists or ArtGrounds users. We encourage everyone to participate in the community so that they can learn and share art tips, tricks, and trade secrets with other artists, learn how to draw or demonstrate to others how to draw, and learn/share how the industry works. There is something here for everyone interested in art!
